The main theme of the forum will be to reflect on the progress of the project at its mid-point in incorporating different resource types and technologies to provide a sustainable European e-Infrastructure to meet the needs of the international user communities.

The EGI Technical Forum 2012 will take place at the Clarion Congress Hotel in Prague, Czech Republic between 17-21 September 2012.
The event will be hosted by EGI.eu in partnership with CESNET, the consortium of Czech universities and the Czech Academy of Sciences that represents the country in the EGI Council.

The seminar will explain how it is used within the NGS, recent developments, useful features on the future roadmap and a chance to ask questions about the system. There will also be a short overview of how GOCDB is used in the context of the EGI project.

It will cover the NGS accounting system at a high level and then go into more detail about the implementation of APEL, the accounting system for EGI, including the particular challenges involved and the plans for development.

One of the major hurdles for bioscientists and students working in the area of molecular modelling, ligand docking and molecular dynamics is the need to master command line driven programs on LINUX or UNIX platforms. Often, the one “computer literate” student in the laboratory finds themselves doing work for other who can cope with analysis of the results but who cannot set up the experiment themselves.
SeIUCCR e-infrastructure Summer School 2012
This residential Summer School is aimed at UK doctoral and postdoc researchers primarily in the Engineering and Physical Sciences. It is hands on with many practical sessions to show you how you can use national e-resources and manage your software and data.
