Importing your Certificate

Once you have saved your certificate, you may need to put it back in your browser, or to another browser to be able to use it from another browser or even to renew your certificate. Instructions on how to import your certificate in a browser are shown below:
 

Using Internet Explorer

1. In the "Tools" menu, click "Internet Options".
2. Select the "Content" tab.
3. Click on the "Certificates" button.
4. Click on "Import".
5. Click the "Next" button.
6. Browse and locate your exported certificate (usually in .pfx format), and click "Open". When the wizard displays, "File to import", click "Next".
7. Enter the passphrase that you used to export the certificate and check the "Mark private key as exportable" option.
8. Ensure that the "Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate" option is selected. Click "Next".
9. You should then see an overview of the import wizard's settings. Click "Finish" to complete the import.

Using Firefox

1. On Windows, open the "Tools" menu and click "Options". On Linux, open the "Edit" menu and click "Preferences". On Mac, open the "Firefox" menu and select "Preferences".
2. Navigate to the "Advanced" section and find the "Certificates" area. Click on the "Manage Certificates" button and then the "Your Certificates" tab.
3. Click the "Import" button.
4. Select the certificate that you wish to restore and click "Open".
5. You may be asked for your Master Password (a Firefox feature that protects all the certificates and passwords stored by your browser). Type it in and click "OK".
6. You should see a message telling you that the certificate was imported successfully. Click "OK".
