Introduction
GUScotGrid was a founder member of the ScotGrid project, initially motivated by the interest of the local Particle Physics Research Groups.
A Tier 2 within GridPP and the EGI, the scope has widened to include other disciplines and research communities both on the local and the international levels. Joining the NGS fills out the UK-wide level of activity.

- Shared 10 Gigabit uplink to JANET
- Capable of Supporting concurrent GRID jobs
Computing Power ScotGrid Durham
- 112 Worker Nodes
- 35 Terrabytes of storage
- Shared 1 Gigabit uplink to JANET
- Capable of Supporting concurrent GRID jobs
Most of the storage is configured for special purpose use with the Storage Resource Manager .
The operating system is Scientific Linux at version 5
NGS users' home directories are shared across the cluster.

Middleware, compilers and other software
The gLite 3 Grid Middleware is installed. Based on Globus Toolkit 2/4, gLite affords the usual NGS facilities for job management and file transfer.
GSI-SSH is available for login on svr020.gla.scotgrid.ac.uk at port 2222.
