AHM 2010 papers available now

The papers from the UK e-Science All Hands Meeting 2010 are now available free online for a limited period.

Selected papers from the 9th e-Science All Hands Meeting (AHM 2010), held in September 2010 in Cardiff, are now available as a special issue of the British journal Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A.  The journal is free to access until 31st December 2011.

The issue is entitled “e-Science: novel research, new science and enduring impact” and is compiled and edited by David W Walker, Malcolm P Atkinson, John M Brooke and Paul Watson.
The 11 papers in the special issue cover a board area of topics: the challenges of e-science, from the optimal use of resources and software to enable discovery using big data to rights management with online data; three papers on applications - for example, crime modelling and linking distant laboratories to carry out electrochemical research; and four papers on 'lessons learned' about what services and tools the scientific community needs.
