Introduction
The RHUL Centre for Particle Physics site forms part of the LondonGrid distributed Tier 2 within the GridPP project. The NGS virtual organisation is supported thereby offering NGS users access to the cluster. A small share is allocated to NGS with the effect that the cluster is available for use by NGS users when not required by other virtual organisations.
System Configuration
The cluster has 400 cores and a total of 280 Terabytes of storage space. Each node has 16 GB of main memory shared between eight processors. The cluster runs the Scientific Linux 4 operating system and users' home directories are shared across the cluster. Up to 8 processors are available to a single parallel job. Jobs submitted to the batch system with a maximum duration longer than 36 hours will be rejected. The CE is ce2.ppgrid1.rhul.ac.uk.
Middleware, compilers and other software
The glite middleware from the LCG project is installed.
