Connecting Infrastructure, Connecting Research

SeIUCCR

The SeIUCCR project is developing and supporting a network of Community Champions to advocate the use of e-Infrastructures in their research. Community Champions are trusted voices, respected scientists who are also e-infrastructure users. Leading by example the Community Champions can help promote uptake of e-Infrastructures within their communities and remove some of traditional perceived barriers to its usage.

SeIUCCR directly funds seven Community Champions across the fields of the physical and engineering sciences to act as a conduit between research communities and e-infrastructure providers.

It also funds workshops and an annual summer school, as well as providing travel bursaries for Champions and others to attend conferences and disseminate e-infrastructure usage.

SeIUCCR is a collaboration between the National E-infrastructure Service (NES) and the Software Sustainability Institute (SSI) and is funded by EPSRC for two years until April 2013.
