Introduction
The University of Sheffield Affiliate resource provides access to the University of Sheffield High Performance Computing service. As an affiliate resource, generally only users from Sheffield and White Rose Grid are allowed access.
Access to the resource is provided for collaborating projects that are using the compute cluster.
Configuration
The University of Sheffield High Perfomance Computing Service is a Cluster of 64 bit AMD Opteron dual core processors comprising of about 464 cores.
Accessing the Resource
The machines can be accessed using GRAM at iceberg1.shef.ac.uk/jobmanager-sge and GSISSH using gsissh -p 2222 iceberg1.shef.ac.uk.
The home directory for each user is shared and consistently named across the head node and all execution nodes.
