NGS Portal (JSDL Applications Repository)

The NGS Portal (JSDL Applications Repository) can be used to access computing resources, execute installed applications and stage/move data.

An Online Repository of pre-configured application templates that can be run 'out of the box'.

Browse application templates in the repository according to categories of interest (e.g bioinformatics, tutorials/examples, physics).

Templates fully describe all of the requirements of an application for execution (‘ready to run’ applications, provides a starting point for new users).

You benefit from immediate access to the expertise, artefacts and configuration captured in application description templates (e.g. published and shared by domain-experts).

Select, load, modify / tweak and save applications as your own personal templates.

Execute an application and stage data in one action.

Go to the Portal (loads a separate window) https://portal.ngs.ac.uk

In order to log-in to the portal, you will need to upload your proxy credentials to the NGS MyProxy server so that they can be securely accessed by the portal. Please use the Certificate Management Wizard to upload your proxy. To log-in, you will need to specify the same username and password you used to upload your proxy.

For selected  applications (e.g. GAUSSIAN), you will need to contact the NGS help desk so that you can be granted execute permissions to run the job (as per licence requirements). See the 'Description' field for each application you load.
