VBrowser tutorial
- First run the Certificate Wizard to setup your desktop Grid settings and proxy certificate.
- Download and install VBrowser from http://www.nikhef.nl/~ptdeboer/vlet/
- Run Vbrowser:
- Win: start the vbrowser.exe located in the 'bin' subdirectory.
- Linux: start 'vbrowser.sh', also located in the 'bin' subdirectory.
- Or start via Java directly: execute 'java -jar vbrowser.jar', also located in the 'bin' subdirectory.
- Check that VBrowser can read your proxy certificate (create the proxy with Certificate Wizard, see step 1).
- Add a new GFPT Location. Right click on 'My Vle' in the left menu panel, and select 'New | GFTP Location'. This will add a new GridFTP server resource.
- Edit a file system resource. The newly added resource can be modified by right clicking it in the left menu panel and selecting 'Properties'. Here you can specify the server hostname and other properties.
- Drag and drop files and directories. Right click any of your added file system resources in the left menu panel and select 'Open in New Window'. You can then drag and drop files/directories between the different file system resources.
